You hire the person with the greatest expertise, regardless of color, gender or orientation. That's what equal opportunity strives for.

With that rationale, only whites would get hired- equality does not mean equity. Your statements implies that every candidate is on a leveled playing field and ignores bias and racism which is in the DNA of America.

What a racist attitude - whites are always the most expert? Really? My state implies that every candidate should be considered based solely on their abilities, and color shouldn't enter in to the decision.

Like it or not, race is always a factor in hiring and to deny that is to be ignorant to the history of this country!

To claim that race is a factor in every hiring is to ignore all progress made in the past fifty years.

You strain yourself. Carlos Slim bought a 17% or so stake in the company, and like all reputable news organizations, there is a wall between ownership and the newsroom; something Trump seems to not understand in his obsession with Bezos and The Washington Post.

Don’t confuse reputable news organizations with the NYTs. NY Post is more respected at this point

How exactly is it so? The Times, imperfect though it is, and more crucial to journalism than Fox News, remains a fine and reputable paper. People go on as if The Times just manufactures fiction, when such a thing would only ruin it and be to the advantage of its competitors.

It’s struggling? Other than the difficulties digital media has brought to all of print, The Times is doing as well as can be expected. Indeed, its dogged journalism these days has increased circulation. And I see you’re only resorting to flippant remarks about MAD and NY Post.
