President Trump says foreign workers on H-1B visas take jobs away from Americans. Employers say they fill a labor shortage. Who's right?https://nyti.ms/2Eo1xIv

I don’t think they take jobs from people. They’re willing to take any job they can get. I’ve never had a problem finding a job, and the majority of people at any place I’ve ever worked are Caucasian/non immigrants. Stop fearmongering and let them work

H1-Bs a hot topic in my field (IT/Tech). Shortages of enough skilled US workers often legit, but some companies game the system, cut more expensive employees and hire cheaper replacements via H1-B. I blame the companies who skirt the rules, not the immigrants.

Then punish the companies, not the workers. Oh wait, corporations have more rights than people do at this point in our country. 🙄

EXACTLY, @nytimes should be doing an investigative report on the conditions of immigrants working at his resorts. Interview some of them. DO YOUR JOB!!! #liarinchief

H 1B Visas do not hurt American workers. Most perform jobs Americans do not want or cannot do. Labor no s and STEM jobs are usually the purpose of H 1B Visas. America need to use H 1B Visas to recruit more doctors and medical professionals.

I have worked in IT for 27 years and for last 10 have been in hiring position. I can say of the folks applying for the job postings I’ve had over the years there are no qualified candidates who are not foreign born H1-B holders and we’re not rewriting job descriptions.

.@nytimes published, with rightful outrage, a story about American employees at Amazon & Disney who were FORCED TO TRAIN THEIR H-1b visa-holding REPLACEMENTS. The same happened in Big Pharma. So yes, H-1b visa is abused & bad for American workers.

Not really! That's outsourcing! Company is in losses, so they outsourced it. The firms can bring H1B or L1, its upto them. So u have to ask the firm not blame H1B! There are 210k STEM jobs available today but no US workers to occupy them. STEM education needs to be promoted!

isn't it the American company owners pushing down wages though? I'm sure immigrants would want higher wages, but the American bosses won't pay them higher wages because they are immigrants. You should really be upset at American bosses and the government, not the immigrants.
