How about we send these troops to Puerto Rico or Flint MI and have them help the locals rebuild their infrastructure? We would be helping US citizens in need, and it would give our Natl. Guard good experience, and valid work they can be proud of.

Sounds fine, but it would spoil Trump's record if he did anything good for the country.

"All it takes is one mistake ".. that's an understatement. Like the "election" of trump.

By several, you mean “all”. The whole country is in a perpetual state of being “privately concerned” about Trump.

When our troops were down there for Jade Helm all the Trumpers could talk about is conspiracy this, conspiracy that, the gub'mint troops are comin' for us but now they're cheering sending Natl Guard troops to occupy the border zone, no plan, no mission. Got it. #ConservativeLogic

Why isn't sending U.S. troops to the southern border a violation of the Posse Comitatis Act; how long will America have to suffer Trump?

Can they please get over their shyness and shut that shit down? It is a misappropriation of military force to go to the border to prevent impoverished refugees who couldn't afford to buy a knock-off Swiss army knife (never mind a firearm) from entering the US to pick our fruit.

Is it not concerning sending troops to the border sets the precedent that if Trump doesn't get what he wants, he'll send the military in to do it for him? Like... what if he doesn't like the results of the 2020 elections?

Deploying the National Guard to the border is a total waste of money and resources and a terrible, unnecessary disruption of its members' and their families' lives. All so Trump can make up for his failure to get his wall.
