Without Amazon’s business, the financial picture at the Postal Service would most likely be bleaker, many analysts sayhttps://nyti.ms/2Iu6rWQ

In case anyone was wondering, I no longer use @FedEx for my business shipping due to their affiliation with the NRA. I switched to @USPS and couldn't be happier. Plus it is cheaper.

The GOP plan all along has been to privatize the Postal Service. Surely this latest maneuver isn't a surprise.

FedEx and UPS would love it. Bit, it is in the constitution. Like the census.

Everybody knows that . Trump has a beef with WaPo and his fangs have it out for Jeff Bezos for owning it. There has to be a law against a president railing against a US company, but what would it matter? The GOP doesn't care about the country!

The USPS publishes an annual report, publicly available on their website. Since 2013, the year Amazon began using their services, package revenue is up net loses are down. It's all right there. Look it up.

Too much time on my hands, but I did some digging myself. This data was compiled from the USPS annual reports to Congress from 2018 to 2009. Net Losses are down from -$5B to -$2.7B since Amazon started using them in 2013, and Shipping and Package Services are up by $6.9B. pic.twitter.com/81iBG0g5Vp

The annual report doesn’t break down cost per package per sender... Corp Welfare - you’d think Democrats would defend Mom and Pop survival?

I'm not a Democrat or a liberal. Your numbers just don't add up. Profits = Revenue - Cost. Your article talks about needing more equipment to handle the increase volume, but it is more than offset by the increase in revenue. That's why profits went up.

You know that the USPS operates in the red? Again - a P&L statement would not delineate a per package cost...

I'm aware but since Amazon, they're losing less. How is that worse? If they lost more per package, you'd expect greater losses than before. You can fudge per package cost. Not the totals. Show me how they calculated the cost per package, and I will look at it.

Without GOP poison pill & constant attacks to break up U.S. unions post office would be fine. Without corporate monopolies like Amazon we would have more competition & a better, more equal economy.

My husband works for the post office and he hates Amazon. They lose money on every package they deliver, and they didn’t hire any extra people to handle the package load, so he works crazy long hours. He’s alsoexpected to finish his route in the same time as before they gotAmazon
