Agree! This is terrible. I volunteered in a very diverse 1st grade classroom of all ethnicities in Los Angeles, & the teacher made this poor little black boy cry EVERYDAY! She was especially mean to him and it made me so sad that she was so patronizing. Why? No reason for this.

Did they - compare punishment for the same misbehaviour? - compare punishment in the same school? Some school may be harsher on their students than other, if there are more black students in these, it can skew the result. Only then can you start saying the skin color could play

No. And they do not commit more crimes either. They are policed more often, arrested more, get less attention from legal aid if needed and serve longer sentences. I feel like you have not been paying attention...for 50 years.

We know that the black community makes up 13% of the population but over 50% of the muder rate. I am curiius if the same situation is happening here. Do you think it’s helpful or productive to explain away bad behavior by blaming someone else.

and to evry1 saying "maybe they deserve the extra discipline", have several seats. When lil Timmy is done lighting the class pet on fire in suburbia come talk to me about how not having the prescribed # of pencils in your backpack warrants a trip to the dean's office.
