Who are the casualties in a trade war? Consumers who buy things that now cost more.
-
America’s farmers. Pork and almonds will be devastated, for starters.

Just in: Trump, in a show of patriotism, just imposed a 25% tariff on all Trump branded items made in China, including, but not limited to his overpriced ties.pic.twitter.com/Vm1fXc9AEl

Trump seems to think he can force other countries to do his bidding, the same way he forced real estate deals. Trade is not a zero sum game and his policies are going to ruin a good economy.

Why are you so anti USA? Is China paying your bills?
-
Don’t you know China always paid for the American’s soybeans bills? It’s the largest market of USA! Anyway, of course they pay!

So what? Is it your contention that we continue deficits and do nothing? When Tariffs were in place prior to 1975 we were a surplus trading nation. Finally a president with guts who will turn things around.

@realDonaldTrump definition of a "WIN" is if we#hurt them MORE than they#hurt us, we#WIN. It should be bizarre, distorted & concerning to all sentient humans.@Bill_George@jaketapper@JoeNBC@davidfrum@MSNBC@HuffingtonPost@SteveRattner - 1 more reply

The best way to kill a giant, is perhaps from within. I'm just thinking out loud. All the tax reforms that widens the country dept, the trade war that hurts the economy more than anything else, the wall, Nafta, where is this going to take the US 3 years from now?
-
Wow that is a dark take! I doubt this is his plan, he is just incompetent and getting really bad advice from his advisors.
-
I still remember the dark days of the cold war, when we didn't know who would attack first. I still remember how incredible it was when the Berlin wall fell down, when the USSR collapsed and the people elected a president who was not from the communist party. Anything is possible
-
Very true, but I really hope it doesn't happen.
-
We all hope.
