Am I the only one who thinks this should be left alone? Isn’t part of feminism being able to choose whatever life you want? If these women want to be cheerleaders and follow the rules that come along with it, why should we care?
-
I cheered for the cfl and the restrictions were the same. of course the choice is our own but it could be made more dignified and less sexist
-
Good point. I’m sure they could be revised to be a bit less superficial

In fairness, no one should wear sweatpants in public.

As a high school student who can barely get out of bed in the morning this feels like a personal attack

Why are there still cheerleaders?
-
Why not?

Ummmm it perpetuates the notion that a woman has no value outside of being attractive for men.

They choose to be cheerleaders. Girls cheer because it is a competitive sport. I have had many close friends who cheer in competition. The fact you think it’s just for mens pleasure is disgusting and is the actual definition of sexism.
-
I’m going to go out on a limb and assume you didn’t read the article.
-
I did. And it changes nothing. They choose this career.

Your insight is noted and truly an inspiration.

if they can't wear sweatpants in public how will society know they've given up on their dreams?
