Unlike unionized NFL players, cheerleaders are part-time workers with few benefits. Those who complain are told that they can easily be replaced. The threats are not empty.http://nyti.ms/2GxsHyt

To be fair, no sweatpants in public should be a human being requirement.

“No sweatpants in public” should just be the rule for anyone.
-
I get this for like, normal people but speaking as someone who has spent hours in dance costumes, the last thing you wanna do after wearing sequins is put on jeans
-
Yeah, I usually find jeans to be not the most comfortable option. Heavy and rough. I mostly go with loose-fitting khakis or slacks.

Proud of my
@ChicagoBears for not having cheerleaders at all let alone holding grown women to such demeaning, ridiculous standards!#BearDownThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If you don't agree to the terms of the contract, don't sign it.
-
Such a shitty attitude. We should all strive for better treatment/worker rights in all roles.
-
We need to take responsibility for ourselves and not accept a position we don't agree with. Strive for a better position. Let the company take the fall. Be a better negotiator. You can't change the system by complaining afterwards. That's immature.
-
That’s not true. Without people complaining workers rights wouldn’t be as strong as they are today. We’d all still be working in squalor.
-
We're not talking about someone fighting a factory because they got their hand cut off. She's upset she can't do what she wants with her Instagram and is acting like it's news to her what the regulations are. Bad analogy. We'll just agree to disagree ;)
-
It was more things like weigh ins, discipline for weight, lack of water breaks, no benefits etc that I was focusing on.
-
As long as there are people willing to sign those contracts, those terms won't go away. Quality people need to be better negotiators and make sure they are being taken care of before they agree to take care of the job. Stop signing the contracts.
-
Or shine the light on poor practice via the media. Every little helps.
