The jobs these companies offer are in out-of-way places. The work is low-paid and disagreeable. And native-born Americans, particularly white men, are generally not interested.https://nyti.ms/2GRw0nk

If you can’t get workers, you need to raise wages. If you can’t afford to pay a living wage, you can’t afford to have a business.

Then they are not low-paid... they are under-paid for what it would take to get workers.

So, instead of raising wage to attract more workers they simply target vulnerable populations that would agree to close-to-slavery conditions? I see

And then vilify them for taking jobs from citizens....not a good deal for anyone but republicans.

Raise the wages and people will come. This "white men won't do the work" argument is a terrible one, and simply serves the interests of rich people.

The chicken and hog farms, for example, will agree with you. No one wants to work dirt cheap in filth in America except the immigrants.

I would work in filth . . . if the price is right. I won't be taken advantage of, though, which is the main difference between me and a refugee. Let's welcome the refugees. But let's NOT take advantage of their unprivileged state in order to make a quick buck.

So what’s really happening here? A guess: Female writer who has an issue with men (particularly white men) uses her job to express her anger about white men. Exhibit A: one of the author’s recent retweets.pic.twitter.com/n5ERZr24RU
