I am half Armenian. My great great grandparents were slaughtered in Turkey, which was their Armenian homeland. Perhaps Turkey should acknowledge the Genocide as they grapple with who is a Turk.
-
My great great grandpa, a Kurdish landowner in Hoşap, Van was slaughtered (along with 6 of his children, and the rest of his very large clan) by an Armenian gang. My great grandma survived by hiding under a bed. Perhaps we should all acknowledge it’s not that simple.
-
Was there a Kurdish genocide?
-
No, and that’s exactly what I mean. What was done to Armenians is horrendous & unacceptable, but it’s not comparable to the Holocaust etc - there are so many other factors, and many losses suffered by other groups in the same period
-
It was genocide and your government should acknowledge it.
-
Wow you seem so smart. That’s all you can say to my nuanced comments? A bad representation for your people

If one traced the people cultures and civilizations living in Turkey for the past 5-6000 years it's easy to say "no such thing as a pure bred Turk" Talking about melting pots. If you like Bouillabaisse, you'll really like Turkish genealogy.

Ah come on dude. They have a language, a literature, and a religion too. For example, if you watch Gallipoli+ strip soldiers of markings, translate into neutral language I defy one to differentiate English, Australian or Turks vis a vis "morals" &Your history is wrong, my friend.

Fascinating. When I have visited Istanbul, it has always struck me how few Turks look Asian. So many seem Balkan-looking (i.e., Greek, Bulgarian, etc.) to me.
