How about a 35 year old who owns 4 guns and believes in the constitution and the second amendment as the ultimate check against a potentially tyrannical government? Or is the world split between aging boomers and ignorant millenials?

This "check against tyrannical govt" chorus is so ridiculous that I'd always advise a check up from the neck up for anyone singing it. To think you could face the govt's firepower 😂😂😂

History. History has taught that the greater weapons win. We don’t have the weapons the government does. A Predator strike or cruise or tomahawk missile will not be stopped by your gun. It is empty rhetoric. All the 300 million guns on our streets is actually doing is killing us!

More people die due to lack of access to affordable health care, life saving pharmaceuticals, and preventative care. Where’s the crusade to move to single payer health care?

I agree with you there. Single payer is a no brainer. Add to that improved access to mental health and sensible weapons measures and you have a winning combo.

And all this stems from a simple misinterpretation of the second amendment ... guns should never be lawful.

No, you won’t get bored. You’ll discover that you actually have to do more than complain to pay the bills. Then, after you earn a bit of money, and perhaps carve out a small space for yourself in this world, you’ll begin to understand why others feel the desire to protect theirs.

The states with the highest gun ownership have the highest poverty rates and the wealthiest have less gun ownership 🙄 but sure...

Correct for population density and you’ll soon find that this merely reinforces my point. State stats are dominated by urban centers, which have both low poverty and high % of non-owners. Rural trends invert. Higher poverty, but also higher ownership %. Point stands.

My statement merely described one path to greater empathy for gun owners as one ages. Unfortunately, yes, we have massive debt crises, both personal and national. These issues are, in my estimation, a far greater threat to the life of the average american than gun ownership.

Guns are not the check against tyranny. In the USA, we are the government and we vote ourselves into office. The ballot box, activism, engagement, and communication (etc.) are our tools. We have the worse case scenario in office right now and no number of guns will solve our woe.
