There’s been talk of bankruptcy swirling around Gibson, the Nashville-based guitar company. What happened?https://nyti.ms/2pT6m7n

You’d think with all the guitarists who held a Gibson on their journey from obscurity to fame & fortune they’d be getting together to do what it takes to keep this classic American company healthy and solvent

Maybe if they made guitars with necks that stayed attached they would be doing better

Wouldn’t David Grohl count as a *guitar hero* with his two signature Gibsons?

Fender guitars are reasonably priced, & durable. Gibson's take three credit cards maxed for entry level. They are fragile too. Weak necks that crack.

Gibson offers comparable guitars at the exact same price points as Fender. Amer Strat is the same quality and price as an SG, for example.

Low end Gibsons will slice your fingers off with unfinished frets. An entry level Squire has a playable neck with finished frets.

That’s what happens when the Tyrant-in-Chief decides to “fundamentally change” America and her icons. I’m sure the heavy-handed DoJ SWAT raid in 2011 did WONDERS for the company.

Overblown nonsense by a media that otherwise ignores the guitar industry. Other famous brands have gone through different ownership. That’s nothing shocking. Bottom line, as long as there are electric guitars being made there will be new Gibsons brought out. Period.
