Tesla once looked like the future of the car industry. But as it burns cash and hits production snags, its own future may be in jeopardy.https://nyti.ms/2J6wKDF

It would naturally be the New York Times to produce an article attacking the confidence of an emerging industry. They do the same constantly with Dem political chances...breeding apathy

Not to mention, the automotive industry is just the most amazingly efficient system yet, right? Airbags from ONE supplier who now is bankrupt for crappy airbags. 1 example...many more. Musk doesn't need to replace fuel driven cars, he just needs to make money selling what he has.

"he just needs to make money selling what he has" The problem is that Tesla isn't making money. They are trying to improve things but there are numerous structural problems that makes this very difficult.

Ford didn't either until he ramped up production and the big three were all losing in 2008. So, the criticism is becoming ideologically based, which is asinine.

Amazon took 21 years to be profitable. Tesla have been making mass production cars less than 6. Building factories and service centres costs big money. They have no choice but to spend big. Ford etc amortized their investments years ago. Go #Tesla.

What’s with the “burning cash“ idea? Does anybody realise that it takes a lot of money to build a factory, so you can build the cars?

Major technological advances often depend directly on inspiration, motivation, dreams, other intangibles. For all @elonmusk's faults he has the personal qualities to revitalize the US; would America have gone to the Moon without the embarrassment-driven motivation of #Korolev's R7?
