Amia Tyrae is at least the 7th transgender woman killed in the U.S. this year. She “was taken away in the very manner she feared.”https://nyti.ms/2pViPHx

So his death is more important than everyone else's because he pretends to be a biological female? What's the story other than promoting a mental illness in gender dysphoria?

Alex, empathy, mercy, and compassion make us human not barbaric animals. I think most animals are kinder than these murders and haters. Just because the transgenders are different from mainstream, does not mean they can be killed.

You have misunderstood my point. His death, like almost all others, is a tragedy. The NYT seems to be putting greater emphasis on his because of his sexual orientation. I'm saying, unless you're sexist, why does that matter?

I see your point. Thanks for taking the time to elaborate. On the other hand, I do feel it is related to her sexual orientation, given the geological location.

I understand, but feel like the story is being unnecessarily covered in a way it would otherwise not be were it not for the race and gender of the victim. To my mind its tantamount to sexism. Good to speak with you!

Their point is that it's extremely likely this crime would never have happened and she'd still be ALIVE if it weren't for her race and gender... And it happens way too often unfortunately.

This is so sad. Something needs to be done as quick as possible to save lives. For we all look the same inside, I just wish everyone would understand this. My heart hurts for all of the families of these senseless tragedies. God Bless All Of You.

Well, the police has to find the murderer first to be sure what the crime motive was, right? The article is about awareness and how, as a civilised society, treat its citizens with respect and dignity.
