It's a legitimate fear. Also troubling- doctors refusing to treat pain at all for fear of backlash if they prescribe opioid medication.

No, shame on YOU! Have you EVER suffered severe, constant pain? Until you have (&, I hope, for yourself that you never do!), you have no right to say this!

There are people who legitimately need pain medication for extended periods or the rest of their lives.

This story worries me...if you are taking medication for Real Real pain and the drug you are taking can..i stress CAN be addictive..it isupto the patient to be aware and not allow themselves to rely totallyon themand increasedoses..it is the patients FAULT if they become addicted

The result of this report on America's opioid's crisis; is scary what the impact will be. Increased crimes & deaths. America is weak from top to bottom in our political system! We lack leadership, governance & are deeply divided & morally estranged. Stage is set for Putin via 45!

This is inhumane! As a sufferer of chronic pain due to multiple issues that resulted from a near death accident 8 yrs ago, pain meds have been my lifeline after trying all other forms of tx. What has happened to individualized care? #NocookiecutterTx !

If Medicare is seriously going to do this, there needs to be other options ie train/fund more providers and clinics to convert patients to methadone/suboxone. We need additional resources to address appropriate and inappropriate opioid use responsibly
