Qantas Airways made a giant leap forward in long-haul travel with its first non-stop flight between Australia and Britain. The trip lasted just over 17 hours.https://nyti.ms/2IQukZB

No doubt a technical achievement for Qantas, but this is not the most desirable route from Europe to Australia (unless you intend to stay in Perth). I would rather split the trip evenly, when you remember that Perth to Sydney is 5 hours away.

I'd fly with Qantas anywhere. Fantastic airline. 17hrs isn't that bad once you get past the first 8 or so. Dubai to Ft Lauderdale is about 17.5, non stop. It's manageable.

Yes, but you have to get to Perth in the first instance. That’s a 5hr flight from Sydney.
