Internet companies were built on a model in which people gave up their information for free services. Now, that idea is under siege.https://nyti.ms/2IOexuj

Twitter is a private company, it can censor whoever it likes (however wrong they may be in doing so).

So true. Why to get a RECIPE APP, do I have to surrender all my photos and contacts and other irrelevant information? I never liked the concept and often refused to participate. My cohorts said, "Oh he is behind the times. He doesn't even have Facebook." I WAS AHEAD OF THE TIMES.pic.twitter.com/cOrAdVNMhN

Wrong! I did not sign up for them to sell my personal info to just anyone, I give them money in exchange to be able to access the internet and watch shows on cable. That’s it.

There is a reason why censes are needed. Big companies need big data. The choices we make ever day add value to our economy, that information is useful to everyone not just for private companies. But controlling the content that we see is the real issue.
