In Opinion, Op-Ed contributor Atef Abu Saif writes, "When so many basic things are so fundamentally beyond your control, you sometimes do feel like giving up... and letting Palestine go. The problem is, Palestine won’t let you go."http://nyti.ms/2G1CdJX

Before people start reflexive, angry replies as to who was there first, or who started it, or whose fault it is, have some compassion and remember: Atef Abu Saif is a human being; a dad with 5 kids. Regardless of whose government sucks or not, Gaza is his home.

Of course Gaza has no job prospects for its young adults. It is run by terrorists/Hamas. That explains the self-protection blockade by Israel, which is not Israel's fault, it's the fault of the Gazans themselves. Why I Stay in Gazahttps://nyti.ms/2G0MtBZ

While I have empathy for innocent Gazans who find no jobs & no hope, if you really want the world's help, expel Hamas, stop using foreign aid to build underground tunnels for terrorism, stop hailing suicide bombers as heroes, and especially stop Koran-sanctioned hatred of Jews.

The blockade is a collective punishment. Is belongs to the medieval centuries. its not Israel who must decide to the Palestinian whom they elect. Stop Israeli State-terrorism. Stop killing children and end the occupation and let Palestinian live in peace.

No one said that Israel should decide whom the Palestinians elect as their leader. My comment points to the fact that Palestinians chose Hamas. That choice sends a message to the world -- that Arabs are not at all serious about peace. They seem to want Jewish blood at all costs

@nytimes Can u tell me why they can not live in peace all together? It is beyond my understanding, looking at the history of this region
