We should follow the custom in Europe. No tipping and restaurants pay a living wage. Then any bad behavior can be dealt with by management.

Customers subsidize workers’ wages because corporations won’t pay a living wage. This is why many countries don’t have this policy. It’s asinine & should end.

Power imbalance? When we get to the restaurant: the hostess is all powerful. Once we sit, the waitress is the Lord of the Table. After we give our order, the Lord has to work with the king of the kitchen. How well they work, will determine the kindness of the G0d of tipping.
