How many might be saved by driverless cars? How many are killed by manned cars? Which are more dangerous? All of these are more important questions than who was the first person killed by a driverless car.

And I'm not sure that driverless cars are safer. I just don't like the idea that we seem to expect driverless cars to be PERFECTLY safe in order to be viable.

How on earth anyone could have ever believed that having driverless cars was a good idea is way beyond me

over 100years ago people said the same thing about flying, and here we are.

I don't believe that anyone ever debated about pilotless aircraft 100 years ago. Unless you can prove otherwise, your argument is a false equivalence.

Self-driving cars are the future. They are already safer than human operators; this is only the first AI fatality, yet thousands of pedestrians are killed every year. You aren't better than a computer. Get over yourself.

Self driving shouldn't be allowed. It's okay for technology to make the job easier but not do the job for us

@Honda actually did the self drive right. Adaptative cruise control. Montors speed for you all you need is your hands on the wheel to control steering -
The technology is only gonna get better. Eventually it’ll be much more dangerous to drive your own car. There’s no stopping this progress.

Unless you are
