And if it wasn’t for teenagers protesting, there would be limited progression in Civil Rights, Women’s Rights, LGBT Rights, and the Vietnam war would have dragged on longer. USA has always been a backward country that has to rely on the younger generation to push for change.

MLK - "One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws." Howard Zinn - "Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it" Exercising Democratic values is good for everyone. People of all ages must stand on the higher moral ground.

Teenagers have just as much right to protest as anybody else. Young people get criticized constantly for being self absorbed and not caring about the real world. Now they are speaking up loud and clear and they are being told "you're too young". #neverstop

I disagree! Not enough life experience and unchaperoned thinking is dangerous! The protesting will eventually become a platform for rebellion!

One of the FEW ways Washington actually listens is when young people raise their voices together. I was there in the 60’s and 70’s- change was slow, but we were heard and change DID occur

I agree that change is like watching paint dry. However, the 60’s and 70’s had a united voice of purpose. This generation has a broken voice mixed with porn, pain pills and entitlement! It’s hard to take a generation seriously who is allergic to listening!

Your negativism is appalling. Hope and faith are obviously ideals you have forgotten. I know great millennial s who share MANY ideals ,for justice, equality, ethics, inclusion

Now would be the ideal time for them to be involved in political activism. You could not get a more moving voice concerning school shootings than those who are in school. It's their right, they know what's wrong and kudos for them for taking a stand.

Freedom of speech? Freedom of peaceful protest? I guess the underage kids shouldn't have protested against the Vietnam war, equal rights for blacks, equal rights for women were wrong too? They are CITIZENS and will inherit this country. I'm glad to see them getting involved.

Like when cops and medical personnel go on strike during work hours or catch the “blue flu?” I wonder how youth learned to capture the attention of others to be heard? Perhaps the W Virginia teacher strike? @Solomon_Imhotep @chiplavan

Exactly. Protests are meant to be uncomfortable and to gain maximum exposure. What other way than walking out during school hours would these protesters garner so much media attention.

Folks that applaud criminality and lies in DC are scared of the power of the next voting generation’s influential voice as they encourage their generation to register and vote them out. In the meantime, our country is facing of “the likes of something we’ve never seen before.”

It wasn't their thing. It was the silent generations thing. Most babyboomers were too young to protest the war and Civil rights, and the vast majority didnt.
