Many people attribute cancer to bad luck. But wretched statistics on cancer mortalities are also linked to racial inequalities.http://nyti.ms/2FGQlMz

Cancer is racist too, apparently. We are living in incredibly absurd times.

or you could actually read the article and see how it talks about poorer black communities being exposed to chemicals with carcinogens in the water and air.

How absurd... always about colour?? You've lost a lot of respect... from a paper like this one expected much much more... jumping on the colour band wagon is about as low as you can go

It is common knowledge that socioeconomic disadvantage can increase cancer rates. Lack of healthy food choices, inadequate healthcare, stress and depression from living in disadvantaged neighborhoods are all factors. This is not racism this is reality.

I find a lot of ideas on how to cook vegetarian and vegan with resources available at my public library. More and more people are choosing a plant based diet and our world will be better for it. Thank you for your contribution to a kinder and more humane world.💜

Stress, poor diets, poor nutrition, lack of medical care, living in food deserts. It's a combination of factors that all feed into cancer materializing and growing. There's so much inequality in healthcare and diets from a very young age that this is no surprising at all

There are many factors, of course, some diseases are triggered by genes, which makes them more common in people according to their race, gender, etc... and yes, there are also others triggered by the combination of many other external elements (not biological, but social)

African-American men are more likely to die from prostate cancer because they have higher testosterone, which is linked to increased chances of getting prostate cancer. This is known, it's not racism.
