Tifanny Abreu is the first transgender volleyball player to make it to Brazil’s top ranks. If she qualifies for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, she would be making history.http://nyti.ms/2FTeLOL

What a fantasy land the Progressives like the NYT now have us living in. There are reasons for men and women’s teams. If we’re going to do this, at least make the teams unisex.

Yes or encourage a transgender league... it's sad and will take many years to build, but it's simply unfair to allow biological men to compete in rated play against women who don't take steroids... It's a horrific handicap for any of the women on the opposing team! #Fairness4All

(S)He has never been an outstanding player while playing in male teams... And magically/easily (s)he's becoming the best game after game playing in female ones, even against olympic winners who worked hard to get there. Let's ponder over that...

I applaud Tifany for making the appearance and enjoying the sport. However, letting a person with a male skeleton and musculature compete against biological women for medals is wrong. Women struggle hard to be recognized at all and this is an unfair and unfortunate intrusion.

It’s a man playing with women. Do you think that’s correct ? I don’t. He should try and qualify for the mens team.

Look at the size of his arm! That’s why there’s female & male volleyball teams. Naturally he will overpower the women. If his DNA is female, then fine. Carry on.

Please enlighten me on how male genetics allows for a more successful volleyball. Excluding the endocrine system obviously as it would be medically altered

Are you aware of the impact transitioning from male to female has on the body? Are you a doctor specializing in the care of trans patients? No? Maybe you should educate yourself before speaking.
