        1) Xylitol or Erythritol are both plant based sweeteners that taste great and have zero glycemic response. 2) Organic maple syrup, small amounts of jaggery crystals (completely unrefined sugar) & Manuka Honey. You won't care about sugar ever again with these.

Sugar and poverty go together hand by hand. That´s how it is sadly. Silent murderer under capitalism´s umbrella.

We need a sugar tax on sugary and fatty food producers. Can be small, but the money should go to health insurance. Right now, the incentivization model is just not there. Corps spend billions on how to most effectively light up our brains - they need to help pay for the damage.

Consumer vote for products every time they purchase. Parents buy crappola that kids beg for because they see it on the telly, like Tony the Tiger or get this Wheat thingys for focus! Maybe consumer education or big warning labels on product like they did on cigarettes?

There's also cost concerns - so much "healthy" food today is produced in small batch so it's more expensive. Some families just can't afford it. That said, I will say that comparing prices, Whole Foods was cheaper than my local grocer on nearly everything.

How about "how to learn to eat EVERYTHING--including sugar--in MODERATION? Or is that not dramatic enough, even though it's more likely to be a strategy that average human beings can achieve?

I think for many families the convenient foods are a major staple of their diets. Look at other peoples shopping catrs you'd be surprised what they don't make from scratch anymore like Lunchables the biggest foolishness. So they may not eat much food but much added sugar.

So let's educate people about that. Let's teach kids in school,so that they learn how to prepare &enjoy healthy foods & can teach their parents to do the same. But I'm tired of articles about giving up sugar, carbs, etc. It's a "recipe" for failure.

I cut out added sugar in April of 2014 and it really did curb my cravings. Great suggestion to all trying to stop sugar cravings.
