It’s a bold plan to wean Californians from their cars: promote denser housing near transit. So why are some environmentalists opposed?http://nyti.ms/2FFiTpQ

This is a "bold plan"? What is this, the 1950s??? This is a *practical response* to the current and ongoing environmental, housing, and transit concerns.

Plans don't have to be bold, but reasonable. Denser housing alone won't change anything. Folks gotta get to their jobs every day! W/o cars, public transport has to step in, and LA's system is ill equipped for that task. Even NYC's run down & underfunded system is vastly superior.

I don’t think this will work-having spent 25 years on the Central Coast-Moss Landing/Prunedale-you need your car& you walk a lot. Buses run but they are not quick enough or have enough routes-

One little problem...BART is already a packed smelly nightmare...adding more passengers will bring it to a standstill.

It’s California’s only hope. I’m a big ol’ lib, and support environmental efforts, but this shit is not going to get fixed without moving some dirt and blocking some views.

İn the old days they have told that USA was the leader of Democracy. Today we are seeing that USA is the partner of terrorists because of a president.
