"You shouldn't categorize people like this," Angela Merkel said. But some Germans call the man who runs the food bank a "people's hero."http://nyti.ms/2FNnWjP

What's the deal with all these wealthy countries needing food banks.

Where there is wealth there will also be some poverty that is unavoidable. Ppl lose their jobs sometimes. Tech replaces them. Ppl get sick and can t work sometimes. Poverty is always there. You work to reduce the amount of poor ppl as much as you can but can never solve it

In Germany, every day, I see poor elderly indigenous Germans, and well-clothed, well fed, migrants given priority housing and benefits. There is absolutely nothing wrong with prioritizing your own people, especially when the government has given preference to foreigners.

I agree with you, this doesn't need any philosophy or rocket science, it's plain "common sense" that the local people with the same problems should be given priority over people who just arrived, even the immigrants themselves should understand and agree with this.

I see this every day. Migrants are given priority. Disadvantaged Germans are overlooked. There is nothing the Western "progressive" left hates more than their own poor.

Herr Sartor is right. Has compassion for migrants but understands that the Germany poor who pay taxes and have been there longer come first.

I think everyone who helps other people is a hero. But it's absolutely not okay to prefer German people. But we shouldn't talk about this. We should talk about, that unemployed people and refugees have too less money to live and eat properly.

Angela Merkel and her reckless unilateral decision to encourage uncontrolled economic migrants into Europe, has created a wave of far right wing uprisings in almost every EU country. The fascists views are openly in view as this story shows and Merkel looks powerless to stop this

seems to be a common thread in Europe, politicians seem bent on introducing immigrants to their countries so they form a critical mass and providing them with free housing, welfare benefits, non conforming religious schools, all paid for by the hard working native populations WHY
