Private equity is always a bad thing. Convince me I’m wrong.

Every company I’ve worked for that was owned by private equity: incompetent filter for good leadership; short term ‘wins’, no real investment for long term infrastructure/success; top heavy expensive c suite and organizational leadership; all around cluster fuck

I’m just curious as to how much the golden parachutes will be for the CEO, CFO, COO and the rest of upper management.

Didn’t toys r us go to court a few months ago to ensure that C suite compensation as paid out as they defaulted on other debts—the only way to ensure they had talent to spearhead a turnaround they argued. Trying to find the article.

In all honesty the are not even trying. Went by there today and only a few unwanted things were even on sale. Full greedy price on toys made in China. That’s their problem. Greed

They didn't collapse. The owners pulled a Mafia style theft on it, racking up debt to pay themselves and then bankruptcy. Straight out of Goodfellas.

finance companies have been destroying retail companies for years now. They think they'll make money on the real estate but they're wrong. Nobody wants big box store space anymore.

@Nordstrom@ToysRUs In this day in age, debt is a suicide mission, really! It is not Amazon that killed all retailer, it's the debt financing restructuring. If the company had taken a business/ operation approach restructuring like offering toy rentals, or even a place for kids..pic.twitter.com/Lay4VxmWRZ
