I'm really looking forward to the day when you pull these photos out of the archives and circle the faces of those who grew up to be President, a Supreme Court justice, a senator, a college chancellor, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, a high school principal, a peace officer...

Truly powerful images. It didn’t look like Texas (my state) had any schools participating, based on the map. Does anyone know if any tx schools participated?

Spring break in many Texas school districts kept students from participating is what I’m hearing. There are several 3/24 marches registered in Texas tho. Go to march for our lives website and check your area for a sister march.

We two old cynical people who had long since despaired of change had tears in our eyes watching and listening to these young people. If they wield their votes against the NRA they cam make a difference so long as we all pitch in to help.

Where is the coverage of kids saying the opposite? Why not cover both sides of a story instead of emotionally manipulating your readers @nytimes?

They’re not manipulating anyone. Oneself is at fault for not reading both sides. NYT is simply covering the story. They’re not shoving it down your throat. You read it yourself.

The media's job is to show the truth, this doesn't show the truth it shows a very bias side of what happened. Look mass shootings are awful but gun control isn't going to stop them, there are too many guns in the country. Lets focus on what will work!

And it’s great that students are involved with current events. But let’s get real here, it’s oneself’s job to get informed. The media is just another company looking to make money. They’re not at fault if people are gullible.

Honestly I complete agree except I have a real hard time being ok with the media putting minors on the news to talk policy. That said you are right, it’s good they are getting involved but facts are completely lacking in this movement.

I get what you’re saying. But, we definitely need to talk about Gun control and gun rights. They’re part of it, and if they’re not included, the country will never meet halfway and will stay divided.

Very silly. The American Revolution was won by gun owners. That's why they need to be in school learning how it was done.

17 people die in a high school and a month later there's a nationwide protest to get the attention of lawmakers. One dog dies on an airplane and there's a bill in the Senate rectifying it within 48 hours.
