At least 139 people were exonerated last year after being wrongfully convicted. Each person lost a decade to prison, on average.http://nyti.ms/2HxDd8S

I wonder how many of the 139 were minorities? Probably most.

Didn’t the Central Park 5 get exonerated? My point is, out entire system is set up so that minorities in general and poor people in particular are at a disadvantage.

Yea eventually. Funny because Trump still hasn't apologized to them. But yea, the system was designed for us to fail. System isn't failing, the system is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The US justice system is a joke. Every single American knows there's one justice system for the poor; one for the rich. One for white people; one for minorities. Etc. And this is the result, hundreds and hundreds of people who lose their lives for crimes they didn't commit.

Our system of justice is supposed to be such that 100 guilty men should go free than have a single innocent person incarcerated, paraphrasing Franklin, who was quoting Voltaire. Criminal justice reform is sorely needed! #CriminalJustice #innocence
