Stephen Hawking liked to say he was born 300 years to the day after Galileo died, and he died 139 years after Albert Einstein was born, on Pi Day, a holy holiday for the mathematically inclined. That was a fitting bookend.http://nyti.ms/2GtGyGX

As a person dealing with a chronic disability for the past 26 years, what an inspiration Stephen Hawking was and will continue to be to me. His curiosity and boundless brilliance was matched by his drive to be joyfully alive despite limitations. May his soul fly high and free!

Only a few people change the way we look at ourselves in the universe. He was one of these people. May he rest in peace.

That, when he passed, the Universe didn't just uncreate itself, is evidence of how much respect it had for Stephen Hawking. #StephenHawking #BackToTheInfinite

Too bad that the brilliant StephenHawking who died on #AlbertEinsteinbirthday was a BDS supporter. He failed to realize that the chip he used to communicate with, was developed in Israel.

Odd that Hawking, with such clear signs from beyond, that he still believed there is no before nor afterlife. Wonder if the next great genius who will change the world, perhaps save it, was born today? I hope so, for our sake

Well if you're talking about some kind of ressurection then wouldn't a genius only be born today if Stephen didn't reach nirvana and had sins on his conscience?

        1. What you said; if what beliefs you subscribe to re: nirvana is correct. There could be a whole other mechanism for resurrection for him. 2. Only known is that prior global level genii died or were born this day. Seems odd

Personally I just think we turn into worm food, but theology is fascinating. I think it's more motivational to know that this is all we'll ever have, but you still have to have foresight. Don't live as if today is your last, but still live like this life is your only.

I think whatever faith generates more Einstein's and Hawking's and less armchair intellectuals, more public servants and less politicians, more statesmen and less statists is a noble faith.
