"The Irish were slaves, too," the memes often say. But they're not true. From 2017:http://nyti.ms/2GnQb9W

What? Jared? Wtf do you know about it. You’re saying because a right winger made a meme that any narrative associated with it is false?

How about we just start with colonization... if you are trying to justify all oppression by saying it has@“always happened” I don’t think anyone is really willing to listen to that argument ...

It has always happened!!!! Why are you in denial!? All evolution is colonisation!!!! There's people out there who still want it......

What exactly is your point? Are you stating YOU want it? I seriously hate useless arguments where people don’t take their own stance. Evolution does not equal colonization. Speak YOUR own thoughts and stop hiding behind other’s

I’m suing you @nytimes this is ridiculous. The critical difference was the fact that Irish could work their way out of servitude, but Africans could not. Liam Stack is going to need to produce source material and be accountable for this.

There's a very moving scene in Frederick Douglass' first autobiography where an Irish dockworker who encounters Douglass asks him "Are ye a slave for life?" Indenture was nothing like slavery and a man in one state knew damned well he wasn't in the other.

This is bullshit. Africans and the Irish were lured here or sold as indentured servants long before the Declaration of Independence. There was in fact a difference, that was legally defined, between Christians and all other servants or POC.

And then there were other laws passed that negros could not work themselves out of servitude, but the Irish were able to. So the only difference was one of permanence. It was still slavery. And your editors are going to hear it. This is irresponsible
