I think if your old enough to be a victim, then there is no age too young

I think if you can be killed by a gun then you have the right to protest its use. So if these are school children being discussed I would argue in the US No Age is too young to be slaughtered.

How young is too young to have to go through active shooter drills? If we have to put kids through drills to prepare for an active shooter situation then they are old enough to protest.

Seeing as how sandy hook victims were primary - preschool age, I'd have to say kids as young as primary/preschool can protest.

Why force politics on kids? They'll be inundated with it for the rest of their lives. Let kids be kids. Teach them how to be safe but stop encouraging them to take political stances when they're not even old enough to understand the lawmaking process & gun control proposals.
-
Then why force active shooter drills on kids ?? Like you said - let the kids be kids and not in fear someone will shoot up their school one day . This is not political. Every kids deserves safety at school and this raises awareness .
-
Being a possible victim of something is not the same thing as being politically informed about it. Would you be okay with kids protesting abortion in schools? They're old enough to have been aborted. I would personally be extremely uncomfortable w/ that despite being pro-choice
-
I like that analogy - and no I would Not agree so young to an abortion protest . But I don’t agree the March is About “demanding legislation “ I believe the March is about raising awareness on a variety of safety issues.
-
And I just have to wonder whether or not these kids have any understanding at all of the legislation being proposed by either side.
-
I agree on your point that they won’t understand it all- but what a valuable lesson for kids to learn about peaceful demonstration. Kids are driving this - so if they are asking they must feel they are ready to be part of it.
-
I agree, I don't really have an issue with the idea of letting kids protest peacefully in gen. I'm just not sure it's good to encourage kids to do so without fully understanding the issues at hand. I think that encourages basing political positions on emotions rather than facts.

Simple How young do you have to be to die because of it? Freedom of peaceful protest has become age friendly
