Passengers in a helicopter that fell in the East River were underwater, cinched in harnesses. Divers tried to free them but were too late.http://nyti.ms/2Gka9m2

Report is that they were photographers and I believe wearing extreme harnesses and not easily removable. This may help explain better. Very sad.https://youtu.be/kMRXfubrcGg

So you're advocating not wearing harnesses?

At this very moment there are companies and national interests rushing to be the first to get a cut of the next mineral boom. Will you be a part of it or will it leave you behind? http://WSMCR.org pic.twitter.com/b67LR1CwFT

Passengers should be drilled to remove their harness. No Dilbert Dunker training, but being able to find and release your harness buckle is critical.

I don't think it was that easy for them as a regular passenger. They were photographers and strapped in excessively. This video helps explain.https://youtu.be/kMRXfubrcGg
