Since 1851, obituaries in The New York Times have been dominated by white men. Now, we're adding the stories of more women. We’ll be adding to this collection each week, as Overlooked becomes a regular feature in the obituaries section.http://nyti.ms/2tDXBmK

All over it like a red hot rash Luke. It's the most amazing and wonderful thing! You should see the print edition - which I've only seen photos of but which looks magnificent. Can we get print editions of @nytimes in Australia I wonder? @damiencave, do you know please? #obits

I can ask my NY colleagues to send a few of the obits special print editions, but we don't have a system for print distribution in Australia unfortunately. Not yet!

Women don't waste money on NY Times obituaries to glorify our legacy. Our families spend the money on charities of their choice.

Read them and they are incredible. However, NYT leaders do owe readers a formal apology for their decades spent trivializing/marginalizing women. For such a prestigious paper, they should've had better foresight -- certainly many of your readers knew of this deficiency.
