The worlds of drug marketing and TV entertainment are blurring. Take a look at a recent episode of "black-ish."http://nyti.ms/2Fq9Ets

I watched blackish where there were no commercials so don't blame the show for that blame the network that was playing the show at that time in junction with the commerical. The episode was very informative it taught you the importance of listening to your doctor.

i'd rather listen to my body and the legally obligated to report side-effects these commercials (but not doctors) have to give, but thanks

I'm not quite sure you got what I was saying but that's ok. If you watched the episode it's about him having diabetes and instead of taking his meds he goes on a fast suggested by some quack doctor which while at a party he nearly falls into a diabetic coma.

i did not watch the episode but thank you for clarifying! i'm definitely not pro pharma commercial but i'm also not pro "doctor's always right"-ness. just think there should be a system of checks and balances in place. one love dude

I'm down with all of that. I really do think doctors don't do their jobs with the patient in mind but the drugs that they sell because they get bonuses from the drug companies if they prescribe certain medicines. If you haven't watched Black-Ish you honestly should it's good.

i will! thank you. and especially when they're getting so much money from it in this country thanks to privatized insurance and non-government regulated healthcare. it's such a catch-22 it just feels like a lizard eating it's own tail: constant circles with no helping end result

Very well put. I believe the pharmaceutical companies have way to much power in this country. They're the ones who pretty much determine the laws not congress or we the people and we get to suffer because of it. They make trillions of dollars off our suffering.

the only thing we can do to fix this is keep bringing awareness to it and keep being loud. it will work for the betterment of everyone eventually. i know it

All the drug ads on tv require a prescription to obtain. If it can't be purchased OTC it shouldn't be advertised to the public.

The US is the only country -that I’m aware of-that allows advertising of pharmaceuticals. This must stop-we don’t need all these drugs!
