Donald Trump’s victory shook him. Badly. And so Erik Hagerman developed his own eccentric experiment: He swore that he would avoid learning about anything that happened to America after Nov. 8, 2016.http://nyti.ms/2FsyhWx

“He has the privilege of constructing a world in which very little of what he doesn’t have to deal with gets through,” said his sister. “That’s a privilege. We all would like to construct our dream worlds."http://nyti.ms/2IexyWm

Key word here is “privilege”. Most of us don’t have the luxury of burying our heads in the sand.

After countless working class Trump supporter articles, you now pluck a privileged 'ignorance is bliss' anomaly from obscurity to rep the other side? This feeds into the false right wing narrative that liberals / progressives are out of touch and elitist; probably intentionally.

So this is your counter article to ALLLLLL the Trump supporters articles? Anti-Trumpers choose to live in ignorance? Have you seen the women candidates running? Have you seen the gun control movement? Have you seen the town halls organized? NYT has serious soul-searching to do

So...he was so alarmed at what he saw about a democratically elected president that he choose to do nothing? Yes doing nothing can be a choice in a democracy. What purpose does it serve? Indifference is not the solution. That is how we got here. Wake up! We can.We must. We will.

Must correct two errors in the article: 1. Trump still holds the title of “most ignorant man in America”. He remains undefeated. 2. Living in Canada brings no respite from Trump. We follow his misdeeds just as avidly - perhaps more so - than the average American.

what a ridiculously privileged man. all of his friends, family, even the staff at his favorite coffee shop respect his "blockade". how many of us mere mortals could build a world like that around ourselves and have it respected?
