Teenagers accomplished in months what we adults couldn't accomplish in years. The future is bright for this country.

A complete ban on assault weapons would be breaking with the NRA and that money would be better spent on prevention education and increasing teacher's.

He did it for selfish reasons; wants to be a US Senator. This bill is a good start but it is not enough for FL or for him to get my vote.

At last a start, finally affiliation to the NRA is proving to be toxic for politicians. Keep pushing.

Nice going w the new gun laws, Florida. It's too bad the @HouseGOP & @SenateGOP have other priorities like enabling coal sludge 2b dumped into our streams. To @SpeakerRyan & @SenateMajLdr, #NeverAgain means never again prioritize things people want over things donors want.

but also allowing the weaponising of teachers :D it's comical but far from funny.

Arming teachers is no way, shape or form a victory... in any size. It's a step backwards.

But raising gun age, wait time on gun purchases, banning bump stock is a step forward. It shows that people are willing to change.

The art of distraction; In one hand something nice and shiny that misleads people from noticing whats in the other/the bigger picture. Still arming teachers which the NRA & Trump want. Not to mention a 3 day wait is nothing & 18 year olds can still by various non rifle firearms.

That is true. But I doubt these kids who lead the charge against guns are going to get distracted easily. Today we've shown that it is possible to get politician to compromise at the very least. That is something we can build onfor stronger gun-control.

I hope it does, really. I think they had little choice to be fair though, given the amount of pressure the young adults with a voice of common sense have put them under, it's conceding but still winning in a way. (I'm pro no weapons and no violence btw/on your side)))
