It's an explanation of research from a well-respected institution complete with names and references. I also think that its a clear sign that our education system needs more emphasis on critical thinking skills. Otherwise too many people buy into a blind mistrust of actual news.

Because hearsay is easy and people are lazy. Plus if it adheres to personal beliefs, it must be true.

This isn't much of a surprise, positive news always travels slower than bad. For example in retail, it's well a well-known truism that great service gets very little word-of-mouth, but bad service? it travels far and wide.

But also fake positive news travel faster, like cancer cures and all kinds of alternative therapies.

The msm will post an article that ends up being fake news and that article will get 20k retweets. When they get called out for their bs articles they don’t delete the original tweet, they just offer a ‘correction’ that barley gets a 1k retweets.

Makes sense. Its the same phenomena as negative always outpacing positive around town. Bad service in a restaurant is always heard more than great service.
