How are they going to retaliate? Withhold exports to the USA or the other way around? Not an expert on economics here, but really curious.

They increase food price for Chinese by adding tariffs on US import agriculture to China. Food price will be higher.

China tax the hell out of US companies doing business in their country. Adding more tariffs to those product will drive US companies out of China. So we will see what they’ll do

What is China going to do, run a massive trade deficit with us, massively subsidize entire industries including paying firms to produce at a loss, and steal our technology? Oh wait. It turns out we're already in a trade war. Our leaders just haven't been fighting back.

10s of millions of US jobs depend on foreign imports. 10s of millions of US citizens can afford that cellphone or new car bc of foreign imports. Far more than anyone depends on us...we have become a consumer, not a provider. We WILL lose a trade war w China

Did anyone in the U.S apart from Trump believe that the world would accept his protectionism and higher tariffs and accept this on a unilateral basis? In the world of Trump he is never wrong. Wake up America before job losses start in the thousands from this trade war mongering

Tariffs mean higher prices for Americans. Costs are rising on everything, and there is no relief for the Middle Class. The income gap between the greedy wealthy and the Middle Class continues to grow.
