        @derrickg745 for one moment I was just going to do a big laughing smiley. Art and history of the past has nothing to do with the future. Removing a sculpture is the same as burning books. education and remembering the past makes the future.

        How about instead of selectively striping history from the public, we add plaques with interpretation and links to further description so the future will have an understanding of the challenges we grew through to become what we are today. Our history defines us.

        Taking down monuments and hiding the crimes of the past from plain view will not change the past. Monuments like these help us to remember. If we (collectively) forget we are doomed to repeat our sins.
