The number of public psychiatric beds in the U.S. has plunged, and the need for acute care is pressing. But what to do with the mentally ill who will never recover?http://nyti.ms/2tp9Vaf

Right now we throw them on the street and hope for the best. There has to be a better way.

Having a real, actual health care system in place would be better. There will always be a need for inpatient facilities but if we put even a tiny bit of effort in this problem, things would improve. Mentally ill individuals deserve to be treated like PEOPLE, not monsters.

Once again the most vulnerable people in desperate need are pushed to the bottom of the humanity pile. Care in the community failed many in the UK leading to police cells and prison for so many mentally ill people. Learn from the mistakes and give the support the sick people need

Yes, bring back the asylums. When they closed Fallsview around here, most of their mental patients ended up on the street with NO care at all. This is wrong. Regulate them, but bring them back.

Everyone deserve to live as they have life. That's why we have compassion for those who can't take care of them selves. We celebrate life on this planet Earth , which is our Home.
