Many men have a visceral hatred toward women who are strong. Haha...too bad. Not losing any sleep over your whining.

Lots of wasted money on the men’s team during that time.

The article totally sidesteps the issue of how the gender economics in US soccer are totally different to everywhere else in the world. Financial equality is far easier when the income gap between the men’s and women’s games is not so large.

Are you aware of how much professional women’s soccer players are paid in the US? And how that compares to men? While there is certainly a high standard of winning in the women’s game here, the pay gap remains enormous.

Yes I am aware there is a difference of between 4-10 times. My point was in the US this is an easier gap to bridge given the narrower gap in income between the mens and womens games compared to other countries.

The gap in England is 100 times. But how could you ever bridge that given the EPL's TV deals are worth around $4bn a year and the women's rights have minimal commercial value?

One such way would be to tie EPL TV rights with the WPL. Economies of scale have proven to work so far when MLS clubs take on women’s teams in the NWSL.

This happens to a degree, WSL rights are tied in with the FA contracts which allows the FA to pay female national team members (the men don’t get paid for playing for England).

Wait, who leads the way? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad to see the US women’s soccer team fight for what is right but credit the @usahockey women’s team for their boycott of the World Championship in 2017. That was huge for women’s equality.pic.twitter.com/2uXfKSW9PM
