“Who made history?” chanted the throng of red-clad West Virginia teachers, who had defied state officials by staging a nearly 2-week walkout. “We made history!”http://nyti.ms/2oUNepa

As a retired K-6 teacher in Pennsylvania, I know how hard teachers work. Teaching is NOT a 9 to 5 job. You take it home w/ you in the evenings...preparing lessons, marking papers, recording grades, etc. Good teachers should to be respected & paid as highly-skilled professionals.

Congrats to the teachers of WV for their hard fought victory. What you are being given, you have earned. It is sad that they were forced to strike for what they had already worked for.

Do teachers really even teach any more? Schools sold out to Obama for funding. Now they just show students what they need to know to pass a test. Kids aren’t taught how to think any more, they’re taught what to think.
