YOUR POST identifies the problem-BUT you overlook a MAIN CAUSE of these crashes-Distracted Drivers-MOSTLY CELL PHONE USE WHILE DRIVING! There are laws that are UN-ENFORCEABLE-I see "TEXTING" every day on the road! HOW ABOUT making phones that will SHUT OFF when car is moving!??

Probably forbidden to take action bys some part in the constitution. If the founding fathers had wanted safe handling in traffic they would have written it down.

But they have to go through training and testing to get that license. They don't just go and start driving without some type of supervision first. You have to license your dog and cats in some places F G S.

The bigger problem is that it's a non-starter anywhere where there is insufficient public transportation, i.e. basically the whole country outside the megalopolii.

Cars and guns is a nonsense comparison. Car manufacturers use every innovation available to make cars safer, not more lethal. Roads are, for better or worse, how most places are organized. No one drives their gun to school or can’t get to work if they lose their gun license.
