Democrats have put Civil Rights at the center of their platform. The people who feel “driven out” need to take a long, hard look in the mirror.

Keep in mind this quote is attributed to “Mr. Lipinski, [who is] opposed to abortion and uneasy with gay rights” AND, until just recently, also opposed the ACA. This dude’s notion that he’s a Democrat is based more on nostalgia (i.e., his daddy was a Dem) than policy positions.

you can't call yourself a "democrat" and be uneasy with gay rights or anti women's rights? If it means cleaning house, so be it.

Asking for myself, and I don't disagree on the women's rights point, but: 1. In 2018, what are the 3 or 4 big ticket rights that women are fighting for. 2. Do you support the freedom of religion?

equal pay, work place fairness, gun control, immigration and pro choice healthcare freedom of religion is an american way of life as long as it doesn't impinge on another's rights

Gun ownership is a way of life and my ownership does not impinge what so ever on your rights, but your idea of gun control does impinge on my rights.

anymore than car ownership does. license, registration, and mandatory insurance, no outstanding warrants, dui's or expired license or excessive speeding tix..oh seatbelts and can't be blind or have low vision.. we can handle regulations ..

Seatbelts are an impingement on rights, should be personal choice, except for children/mentally disabled. If you are injured while choosing to not wear a seatbelt than insurance should not have to pay medical bills and hospitals should be allowed to refuse to treat if u can’t pay

the insurance law while written by lobbyists is to protect those you hurt while driving..protection for the harm you might cause by exercising your right to drive, if you passed the driving test, vision test, and registered your potentially deadly car.

Once again, driving a car anywhere other than on your private property is not a right. It is a privilege. A privilege u earn by being responsible and following the regulations to protect others you might harm.

Yep... 10 years ago I mostly voted Democrat, now I consider myself independent or unaffiliated. Political parties and ideologies are dangerous when followed blindly. Try to think for yourself!

Was it corporate influence on the party? Do you think the lobby voices influenced progress more than the interest of the public? This is my take: Sanders had a platform that shows direction to reduce the economic disparity I liked Obama-but ACA revealed DNC ties to industry.

I disagree about Sanders n this respect; when Clinton adopted some of the progressive stances, his supporters cried "co-opting" She was actually listening to younger voters and changing accordingly. But it became Bernie Cult of Personality. Why else not support her then?

Repeating "Bernie Cult" is divisive to the blue wave this early into the next campaign rush. DWS anointed HRC, the DNC seems to be grooming a leader(s?) that also have corporate ties. When MSM wants a liberal perspective, DNC seems to discourage official dem participation-why?

Bernie makes himself available-and a few others that align w/ his message-they are minorities who have a following. They are part of the DNC, but I'm not sure the committee will get behind them-they point out corporate conflict. More people see the grassroots move as trustworthy.

I think Bernie ran as a Dem bc he didn't think he had a chance as an Independent. Turns out the Dem system was rigged against him too but his run made alot of waves.

I think his influence on the party is good, they needed a reality check. All of these awareness movements that started last year with marches that create buzz are good for energizing liberal leaning voters to go vote. The more informed people are, the greater connection there is.

That’s silly. If a person gets “chased” out of the Democratic Party he or she probably didn’t want to be therein the first place.
