Society says we must live out our lives in a well planned out existence, well some of us can't live up to those expectations, resulting in breakdowns, my grandfather, father, aunt, brother, were all hospitalized from mental health breakdowns, I worked mental health job.

I've experienced a great deal of obstacles during my lifetime, and I too have had my share of problems, addiction to everything has played a huge roll and I'm a walking miracle, the boundaries I grew up with only led to confusion and pain and distrust. It took 60 yrs to stop.

What's really interesting about this story is the woman who offers help is employed by one of the corporations that cause most of the planets problems. Banks are in the business of collecting interest, nothing more.

Powerful and tragic story. I can't help but imagine if Ms. Williams had never been molested as a child – she may well have had a prosperous and happy life. I am glad that despite her homeless status she had the support of so many people.

Sad story. I was impressed by Nakesha’s former classmates, teachers and the New Yorkers who tried to help her.

Thanks to Benjamin Weiser. Thanks to Susan Beachy and Doris Burke for their research, too. A truly powerful piece.

With & w/o the mental illness Ms. Williams touched lives,& they were touched by her in different ways. The kindness of people she'd known before illness took away the future she was headed for,& that of others who never knew of it.-- still goodness in this world. #Loss #Love

She was prevented by law from being treated until after she became danger to self or others.
