Stop trimming the branches when you can cut down the whole tree. If we are truly interested in saving the World, we will stop the production of most of the things destroying our climate today cos we cannot eat money at the end of the day

A car with a 4-inch clearance is not a SUV.

Ugh. Best thing about driving outside of the U.S. was the relative scarcity of these polluting monstrosities on the road.

The push of SUV's and light trucks were a means of getting around EPA restrictions.

Why are the auto makers so slow in embracing cleaner electric SUV's???
-
SUV's have much higher aero drag than cars, so an electric SUV would need a much bigger, expensive battery to have the same range as an ekectric car.
-
Ok, then what about hybrids? I believe only 2% of SUV models in the US are hybrids, woefully inadequate!
-
People who buy SUV's don't care about efficiency. There are some good hybrid SUV's on the market, like Highlander, RX, the smaller Kia Niro, and others, but they don't sell well.
-
Yes, they do, if they had the choice! The Kia is a smaller crossover and the others barely get 30mpg. Would love to see the fuel efficiency of a Prius wagon in a larger SUV, the auto makers will eventually roll them out if gas prices keep rising.https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1113399_2019-toyota-prius-v-to-shift-from-wagon-to-suv-design-but-will-it-have-awd …
-
A larger SUV won't get the mpg of a Prius wagon, for obvious reasons, and a Prius wagon doesn't get near the highway mileage of a Prius liftback, because of the aero drag difference.
-
Cars just get better mileage, especially on the highway. My 455 hp Corvette gets about 30 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph. My Prius gets about 45 under those conditions. In city driving, though, where the hybrid drivetrain shines, and the big engine doesn't the Prius almost...

triples the mpg of the 'Vette.

With Rump's tariffs, this will disappear along with most new cars, trucks, washing machines, TVs, cell phones, etc., etc.
