Here in Sweden, many bottles have a deposit on them. So, when you return them, you get your money back. We also have progressive, successful recycling over the whole country where materials are used in recycled-product production and burned to create energy.

That pile of plastic has enough clean energy hidden in it to power a city. Gasification works wonders.https://youtu.be/-aO7fWZL_XM

Outrageous and should have been handled decades ago. Do not dump it in the sea. Find working ways of cleaning it up. Work on technical solutions solving problems on the area.

Sad. Going back to glass bottles (or waxed cardboard like milk cartons) and paper bags seems like such a common sense and easy thing to do.

The downside of recyclyng is it cost more than manufacturing new ones (plastic) 😢

You know what's interesting? I just got back from a 2 month trip to Honduras. And although they do use an awful lot of plastic bags for carrying things. MOST of the items on the shelves of any super market, or store..are NOT in plastic or Cans.
