Many Americans can buy a gun in less than an hour. In some countries, the process takes months.http://nyti.ms/2tdK3OC

That's because it is a RIGHT in America. Not a privilege.

Your rights are not infinite even in America. 1A says you cannot be punished by government for saying anything. Yet if I were to go into a theater and shout "fire" I would be arrested when people panicked.

The right to free speech and the right to defend yourself, your home, and your family were given to us by our creator not by the government.

God didn't write the constitution. Men did. And they wrote it specifically to separate religion from government. Establishment clause of 1A clearly states this as does the Treaty of Tripoli. God has no place at any level of government.

Don't know where you got that I said God wrote the Constitution. I'm not retarded. We were endowed from our creator with certain inalienable rights. Sound familiar? The government doesn't give me any rights, I started with them. They take them away.pic.twitter.com/EaHJ3FvONh

You forgot the second half of that part of the Declaration: "and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Those rights belong to me as well. All three of those rights are threatened by the current state of affairs with regards to guns right now.

We could do all of this. There's only two problems 1. NRA $$ 2. 2nd Amendment interpretation Evolution is hard, but we need a re-do on the 2nd Amendment. And we need to tell the NRA to bite themselves.

The 2A has been interpreted correctly. English 101 on sentence structure tells you exactly what it meant. Supreme Court agreed. This is your “right” as well, why do you want to get rid of your own rights. Also can’t defend the 1stA w/out the 2ndA

I would rather see a sensible amendment than more kids mowed down by assault weapons. My right to own an assault rifle? I'd happily cede. @votevetshttp://lawcenter.giffords.org/search-gun-law-by-state/ …

I adopted a puppy. It meant a first adoption event showing, a visit in his foster care home, a $200 application fee, personal references, a home visit to verify safe conditions. He went to classes. His health care & license are verified every year. And. This. Is. For. My. Puppy.pic.twitter.com/CuOHE2qqLq

Exactly. More difficult to adopt a pet than to obtain a gun in most parts of this country. This article makes way too much sense...unfortunately many Americans don't have the ability to comprehend it.
