Ava DuVernay's beloved stepfather died 2 weeks before she started work on "A Wrinkle in Time": "The film is looking for him in a way. And that’s why I don’t care what anybody thinks about it. I know it’s $100 million for the studio. They’ll be fine."http://nyti.ms/2HXnuRI

Ah crap... i openly weeped at the end of Guardians 2 when they played “Father and Son” so my guess is I’m in trouble here too. Hug your family if you are lucky enough to still have them

This article makes Ava look really bad. It starts by saying she spent Disney's money building herself a new bldg complex. And then it just casually mentions that she doesn't care if Disney gets a return on their investment. I can read between the lines...she's about 2be shunned.

And the excuses begin for why the movie is not good. Of course the answer is simple but the New York Times won’t mention it necause they are part of the career building for the anointed publicist. When did publicists become artists and creators anyway?

I’m pretty sure she won’t get many director jobs for big budget films if it’s a flop. Personally I’m a little worried about the art direct based on previews. Also it’s a story that isn’t considered part of YA canon these days
